A number of people were rescued from MM Beach on Sunday, with Marine Rescue Port Kembla playing a vital role.
Calls to emergency services at around 12pm alerted authorities, with reports of several people struggling in the water off the beach.
While four were rescued from the water with assistance from lifesavers, a fifth was spotted on shore a short time later.

Marine Rescue NSW Inspector Stuart Massey said, “a volunteer crew was rapidly deployed on board rescue vessel Port Kembla 31.”
