Shot SA man charged over axe assault

A South Australian man who allegedly rushed at police with an axe, and was then shot in the abdomen, has been charged with assaulting two officers.

The 22-year-old is recovering in hospital with gunshot injuries to his lower abdomen and he is expected to make a full recovery, police say.

He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault over the incident at a Willunga home, south of Adelaide, on Wednesday night.
