A Cyanide spill into Port Kembla Inner Harbour has seen BlueScope Steel fined thousands of dollars.

The NSW Environment Protection Authority fined BlueScope $15,000 following the incident in September 2016. A valve had been left on, resulting in water containing three times the legal level of cyanide flowing into a drain that lead to the Port Kembla Inner Harbour.

According to the EPA there was no impact to fish in Port Kembla Harbour.
