Like shooting and hate flies? This might be the gift for you - a shotgun that blasts insects with table-salt |

I have been having some fly problems of late! A pose of about 5 flies has taken up residence inside my house and I can’t get rid of them. I’ve tried whipping them with a tea towel and catching them Mr Miyagi style but neither worked. I even went against my ‘no chemicals’ policy and bought some fly spray, giving a liberal spray indoors before heading out of the house only to return to an abode full of healthy happy flies! Will anything shift these little pesks off this mortal coil??? Maybe this little beauty will: The ‘Fly Shotgun’
Whether this is one of them or not might depend on how you feel about killing insects, for avowed fly-hater Lorenzo Maggiore is seeking $15,000 for his 'Fly Shotgun', which uses nothing more than common table-salt to blast those pesky creatures into the next life. He is using fundraising site IndieGoGo to get his product on the shelves, with a fully-featured 'BugASalt' prototype already proving its worth in the age-old Man vs Fly battle. Using salt for the water-pistol-like weapon means the gun is effectively harmless against people - in the video, even a plastic bag survives a close-up blast. But for flies, the attack is deadly, with a video montage showing fly after fly perish thanks to a bit of salt. If you are eager for a BugASalt, you are sure to be in luck - Maggiore originally asked for $15,000 to bring his creation to life, but his pitch hit a chord with fans, who have so far raised $62,000 with 45 days left before the fundraising drive ends. Pre-orders for the gun start at $30, so if you love shooting and hate flies, this may end up being a worthy purchase. Dim lights Embed Embed this video on your site I’m sooo getting one!!! |
