Illawarrians are being urged to think twice before grabbing the dog and going for walk after work tonight.

With scorching temperatures across the region many will be heading to the coast after work and some people forget their pets are not wearing shoe’s, paws can burn!. If your not sure if its to hot it’s easy to check, just press the back of your hand against the pavement, if you can’t hold it there for 5 seconds Fido’s daily walk will have to wait.

If you see any animals in distress on hot days, please call the RSPCA or your local vet.
